  13. Subject: xdvik installations problem on Sparc 10

  15. Sparc 10 running SunOS4.1.3U1, Openwindows 3
  16. When installing xdvik-1.8, from CTAN, the message 
  17. ld: Undefined symbol
  18.  _get_wmShellWidgetClass
  19.  _get_applicationShellWidgetClass is diplayed when linking xdvi.
  20. The makefile has -lXaw -lXmu -lXt -lXext -lX11.

  22. I found the routines in X11 lib, libXmu.sa.4.0, but it isnt in
  23. libXmu.a or libXmu.so.4.  I tried setting binding to static for
  24. Xmu and Xt, as recommended for installing the mf X application.

  26. I apologize for ignorance, but I've tried finding in the linker doc if there
  27. is a way to force ld to look at the libXmu.so.4, and assume that it isn't.
  28. I've tried both  putting /usr/openwin/lib first in LD_LIBRARY_PATH, or 
  29. putting /usr/lib, to search the X11 (R4) libraries.

  31. I'd appreciate any suggestions, I'll try looking for other previewers in the
  32. meantime.
